Sub-family: Excavatorynchinae.
The excavatorynchids, or Shovelbills as they're commonly know, are a more terrestrial sub-family of ornithorhynchidae and are characterised by their triangular, shovel shaped bills which they use to root around in the leaf litter or whatever is covering the ground in their habitat for invertebrates, amphibians and reptiles.

Would Papua New Guinea even still exist in the Allocene? I was under the impression that most modern day islands would be immerged in water.

There is one thing I forgot to ask:
1) How are the leg positions of these mammals?
2) Avimustelids, are they only terrestrial or also aquatic and arboreal?

Impressive! But aren't the other Australian mammals that may get in the way of this evolution?

Hmm... I would certainly like to see a greater variety of platypus species. Australia during the Allocene would be warmer and moistier, and not many mammals would be adapted to aquatic environment (marsupials are limited by their breeding pouches and most placentals donīt seem to have many opportunities), so creatures like platypodes would be rather common.
Nevertheless, though I like your concept of shovelbills, I think avimustelids are a little too much. Platypodes have very primitive features (egg-laying, low metabolism...) and in addition they are very specialized. This means they wouldnīt have any opportunity at all in evolving into predatory forms, since they would be easily outcompeted by any other already carnivorous creatures.

What do you mean with placentals not having many opportunities?
